Thank goodness for Makenna

If I did not have this little girl to keep me busy and distracted, I surely would have gone insane by now.....Yup, that is right....STILL NO BABY!
But Makenna and I have been having so much fun and been doing all sorts of Mommy and Daughter bonding before little Kellen comes in and takes over some of mommy time.
Makenna has been a doll this week. We have been having a blast with each other. She has been in a very sweet and loving mood, which has been nice. She is so cute when she says "Oh, Thank You Mommy" to just about anything I do for her. I love it. She has just been a very happy girl this week! I can't get enough of that little girl!
Makenna has a few new things that she loves. First off, she is all of the sudden a freak about opening and closing doors. Open, close, open, close, open, close, all day long. She will walk around the house and close every door. Then find one and stand there and open and close it until it drives me crazy. Weird kid. Also, she has always enjoyed reading, but she is now obsessed with reading! I think she would sit down with someone and be read to for hours if she could. I had to pry the books out of her hands the other day to get her to come outside and play for awhile.
Her other new thing is calling me "Mom"....not "mama" or "mommy", but "mom". I don't like it one bit! Two year olds are too young to be calling their mommy "Mom". I am hoping it is a passing phase. She mainly does it when she is trying to get my attention. It just makes me feel like she is growing up so fast!
Anyway, here area few pics from the beach and her riding her tricycle. Just wanted to share. She is getting really good on her tricycle....she finally has the peddling down, though steering is a bit of a challenge still. It does take much concentration though. Isn't she cute in that helmet?

She loved playing chase with the waves. And she was not sure at all what to think about sea weed.
Silly Goose!

All I have to say is....

This BETTER be the LAST picture of this PREGNANT BELLY that you get to see. I am Sooo ready to have this little guy out. It wouldn't be so bad if I hadn't been being told for 3 weeks now, "Oh, this baby is going to be out any day now!" It was a dangerous mindset to be allowed to be in.
Anyways, here it is- The ever growing Buddha!
I had another doc apt today. I am now 2 1/2 (she said close to 3) cm dilated and still about 80% effaced. The doctor did the whole "sweeping of the membranes" thing for me today, so hopefully that gives me body the little jump start that it needs. I told her to just go ahead and break my water, but she wouldn't do that quite yet.
She said that they will not let me go more than 7 days past my due date. So I guess that means he will be here within 14 days from now, worst case scenario. I am just praying that this child has a Sept birthday....is that really too much to ask?
Any self-inducing labor tips would be much appreciated :)

My Loves...

These are a few pictures that Sarah took of Todd and Makenna together when she was doing my maternity pics. They turned out so adorable....I just have to share.
There is nothing like seeing the two people I love more than anything laughing and smiling and having fun together.

I love my hubby and my little girl more than I could begin to tell you. They are everything to me and I don't know how I could survive without either one of them.
They are my world.

Life Update

It sucks sitting around, waiting to have a baby. You are afraid to schedule much on your calender, since you have no idea if you will be around.
And since I had the doctor tell me I could be having this baby any day, I have not been taking a ton of pictures. I am afraid to wear down the camera battery and then have it die in the middle of birthing Kellen...Yikes!
But today I finally took some pics. So here you go....a quick update for you all.

I asked Makenna if I could take a picture of her. Here is the attitude I got in response....Makenna is at the "Mine!" stage. Everything is "MINE!" It is driving me insane. I mean, I love her, but if I hear that word one more time I am going to go crazy. And really, she is very good at sharing. She just wants to say "Mine" about everything. Help!!
Now she decided she was in the mood to pose for me.
This is the face Makenna makes when she is trying to fake sleeping. She has found it to be a fun game to pretend like she is napping and then have me scare her and wake her up. Too funny...
Kenna and her Daddy dancing around the living room. Makes my heart melt.
As for the baby update....I am now at 38 Weeks. I had a doc apt today and am now 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced. He has also dropped down even lower (at about a -2 station right now). Once again she said he is just hanging there and could come any time. I am really hoping for this week!!! Makenna decided that she needed to get in on the belly pictures as well. So here is Miss Makenna Mae at 38 weeks as well :)

Holy Belly!

So, I was curious to how much my belly has grown from the beginning of this pregnancy up until now. And Whoa! What a sight to see. It is freaky what happens to the human body in a matter of 9 months. There is certainly a baby in there...no doubt about that. Hopefully he gets real uncomfortable soon and decides to venture out.
But here....Take a look at this growth....Crazy!
This first pic was taken when I was just a few weeks along.

I am in shock at what has happened in only two weeks! Yikes! That boy has gotten bigger, no doubt. And he has Really dropped. Craziness.

Well, I will keep you all up to date. Hopefully I am posting pictures of an actual kid and not my tummy very soon. Think happy labor thoughts for me!

Kellen's Room and Cuteness

Well, after a lot of time and going crazy last week, Kellen's room is DONE! It feels so nice to walk in there and see everything set up and ready and in place. It puts my pregnant, nesting mind at ease. So here are the pics of how it turned out. I am really happy with it! Todd and my mother were a huge help and it wouldn't be finished if it weren't for them.

We went with the classic pooh theme so that we can keep the nursery the same with each upcoming child, regardless of the sex. That way we can just rotate babies in and out. We figured that made the most since if our goal is really 12 kids....
Makenna is IN LOVE with all the baby toys and items around the house (if only she had enjoyed them so much when she was the baby using them). Todd came out in the morning to find her pushing her baby doll in the swing. Too cute. At least she is not trying to climb in it herself...yet...
