Moosalicious!

I don't know how she got the nickname Moose....Poor Girl. It just fits her though.

I just think this little girl is so darn funny. So let me share a few moments from our week.

Makenna loves hanging out in the bed with Mommy for a few minutes in the morning sometimes. She and I were just cracking up and taking silly pictures of each other and having tons of fun. I love this one of her. Total bed head. (P.S. We are moving Makenna into a Toddler Bed this week. Any advice on how to make this a smooth transition would be greatly appreciated).

I caught Makenna watching Elmo like this and just cracked up! She had put on my necklace "necky", was waring her glasses, and totally kicking back with her blanky and book. She knows how to chill out!
Makenna reminds me of Wilson in this picture. This is what happens when you are playing outsied with the hose, get your hand in some mud, have a fly land on your face and go to swat it away.
Just cute! What more to say...

30 Weeks and counting...

Take a look at that Belly!
We have officially made it to the 30 week point, thank goodness. It feels good to be 3/4 of the way through the pregnancy. It finally feels like the home stretch is in sight....sort of. It is amazing to think that he could safely be here in 8 weeks or so- it's actually a bit intimidating. I have a lot to get done before his arrival.
But things are going great! Everything was looking/measuring/sounding well at our last appt. I am feeling pretty good. Definitely hitting the discomforts of the third trimester, but really I can't complain. It is all for a good cause and I actually love things like the belly and feeling the baby kick. I will miss it when it is gone (someone remind me of that when I am complaining 8 weeks from now).

Big Time Swimmer!

Todd and I decided that it would be a good idea to sign Makenna up for swimming lessons this year, seeing as we are in the pool almost 4 days a week. She has absolutely no fear of the water whatsoever. She never has. She will go straight for it, she will stick her face/head under the water, walk straight off the steps, she will even jump in from off my parents water fall which is a few feet high. I love that she is so fearless, but it is also a little scary. It would be good for her to learn some caution in the water. So we thought teaching her to swim would be a Very good idea.
We started swimming lessons a couple weeks ago. She loves go to the pool! She really enjoys her lesson and is getting better and better in the water every day. I wouldn't be surprised if she can swim short distances on her own by the end of the summer. She is a natural little fish.

Grandparents Rock!

My parents are amazing! They were more than wonderful parents to me, and now it is so neat to see my daughter adore them the way she does. She has so much fun with them. She gets so excited when we are going over to Grammy and Pa's house. They really are the kind of Grandparents you pray for your children to have.Recently they took Makenna to the Zoo to have some alone time with her and let mommy and daddy enjoy some time to themselves. They had a ton of fun together. Here are a few cute pics.
She looks a bit concerned, does she not?

Makenna made sure to give lots of love to each and every goat!
YIKES!

Banana Treat

This pregnancy has brought with it a few more cravings, or perhaps just more intense cravings than I experienced before.
One of the cravings I have been experiencing is for what I call the "Banana Treat." My mother used to make it for us as kids. It is basically a banana cut down the center, spread with peanut butter, and then m&m's on top. And it is amazing! Pregnant or not, it is something that must be tried.
For months now I have been having one of these treats at least 5 nights a week. It is just that good. It drives Todd a bit crazy watching me make it...he says it takes me too long, but I try to explain that making the perfect banana treat is an art and one that cannot be rushed :) He just hopes that he is around the day that I decide I am sick of it. I don't know if that day is coming soon...if ever.

Family Fun

I love the little kid smile.
Our family and my parents both bought Wii's, so we now regularly enjoy Wii tournaments at each others houses. Mostly it is bowling. Todd currently holds the family record for high score. He is not far away from a 300 game. Look at that form!
I would have the family record were it not for being pregnant :) As the belly grows my balance is thrown off and I am always having to adjust my game (that is at least what I will say for now).
Dancing to the Wiggles with Makenna.
She kept trying to take her shirt off all day and it would get stuck at this point...so she would walk around like this. Too cute if you ask me.

S.D. Fair

Over the weekend our family went to the San Diego County Fair. We look forward to it every year. The food was a bit of a disappointment this time around, which is sad since that is one of the main reasons we go. But we had fun all the same.
Makenna got to go on a pony ride. She was a champ and went all by herself and loved it.She had to wave at everyone she passed....she is certainly not a shy one.

Todd and David rode rides until they both thought they were going to puke. This ride was Todd's favorite....he loves it so much he ends up laughing through most of it. I think it is quite cute.

And we got to take a family elephant ride. I think Todd and I were more excited by it than Makenna was.
