"MiMi Mouse" Preview

We Had our ward carnival last night, so we got Makenna dressed up in her costume. She is in love with Mini and Mickey, so she got to be Mini this year. The smile on her face when she looked at herself in the mirror dressed up was just priceless. She was so happy.
Anyway, I thought she was adorable and so I wanted to share a couple of pics. The whole fam will be getting dressed up on Halloween, so we will have more photos to come. I just couldn't wait.He is getting so big already! My Little Man!

Smiles, Sleeping, Scooters and Splashes

My little, beautiful babes.
I always like pictures of kids in their car seat...I don't know why.
Where Kellen goes, Makenna goes also. It is cute because if I lay Kellen on one of his blankets, she immediately goes and gets her blanky to lay on right next too him. I love seeing my babies be together. It makes me smile!
The little cuddle bug, doing what babies do best.
Makenna got this scooter as a present for being a big sister. She loves scootin around on it, and it is crazy how good she is on the thing. I don't think I had that good of coordination at 2, let alone at 24.
Awww...the first bath...always a precious moment. Sadly, they always look so silly in these pictures. But it is still cute as can be. And he loved being in the water. Memories from the womb...sigh...

I Hate To Brag...

But I am going to!
Kellen has already rolled over on his own, and he is only 2 1/2 weeks old!
I was giving him some tummy time yesterday and he got the top half of his body onto it's side, and then within a minute or so had kicked himself the rest of the way over.
I got Sooo excited and then thought it must have just been some luck and circumstance. But he did it again today! I know he is not intentionally doing it, but I am impressed by his strength and ability to roll over already. What a little stud muffin!
On the down side, I am now afraid to leave him on the bed or anywhere, knowing he has the capability of rolling. Isn't one of the perks of having a newborn the ability to set the baby down and know they will be in the same spot when you come back? Well, that was short lived!
I'll have more pics soon. At this age all the pictures tend to look the same, since there is only so much that they do. Sleep, stare off into space, poop, sleep, stare at more things, poop, you get the point. But then there is always Makenna who is never doing the same thing for long...

Two Wonderful Weeks!

Tomorrow Kellen is two weeks old. I can hardly believe it! In a lot of ways it feels like the time has flown by and I swear he was just born yesterday. In other ways it feels like he has always been here. I can't picture our family with out him. So here are just a couple of pics from the week. We have still been taking it pretty easy, though I have gone out a few times with the two kids alone, just to make sure I can handle it. Todd goes back to work on Monday and then it is back to real life. Yikes!! (Actually, I am really looking forward to resuming some sort of normal schedule)
Kellen continues to be a very good little baby boy. He is absolutely adorable and is happy to be hanging out. He is sleeping a bit more now. I am actually getting 5-6 hours of sleep a night, which I think is pretty good for a two week old. I can't complain. Makenna continues to do well. She is very sweet and loving with Kellen. She loves to help give him his binky when he needs it. My only complaint is that she is going through a phase right now where she loves to yell. Sometimes it is provoked by something, other times it is for no reason. It drives me a bit crazy and it is hard to know how to reprimand her for it. If I put her on time out every time she yelled at someone, she would be on time out all day. If anyone else has gone through this and has advice, feel free to share. Luckily Kellen sleeps through it without a problem. And I feel lucky that, given all the changes in Makenna's little life, this is the worst I am dealing with. She has really adjusted better than I could have asked for. She is a good little girl.Makenna picked out her own outfit for the first time. Not too bad if you ask me. The worst choice was the shoes....they are two sizes too small. But she insisted that she wanted to wear them and said they didn't hurt at all, so there you go. She was very proud of herself!

First few days...

I actually had a few minutes to get on the computer, so I wanted to post a few pics of the little man without goo all over his cute face. It already feels like his face has started to change. He just gets cuter and cuter!!
Kellen is a chill baby. He really doesn't cry much at all. He doesn't like diaper changes and he is sure to let you know it. But other than that he is a content little dude. He is starting to figure out that night time is for sleeping. But being tired is just part of what having a baby is all about. We love him!!

Makenna is being Amazing. She is so sweet to her baby brother and loves to hold him and have him lay in her elmo bed with her. Her phrase when she holds him is, "Look, baby cute!!"

It's a goofy picture of them both. I love my silly girl....What a dork!

It was the end of a long day. I am actually feeling better than I look here...I swear!
Daddy loves his little man! It is so fun to see him experience all the new baby stuff.

Welcome Kellen!!

On Oct 4th at 1:09am, Kellen McKamey made his grand entrance into this world. He checked in at 8 lbs 9 0z and 22 in long. He is long and skinny right now....it's too cute....he has the most adorable little chicken legs.
My water broke while I was at home discussing dinner plans with Todd in the hallway on Friday evening. We got to the hospital around 7:20, they admitted us and put me on pitocin around 10:00. Active labor really kicked in a bit after 11:00. I finally broke down and got an epidural when I could no longer handle it. And, of course, right after they finished the epidural they checked me and I was 9 1/2 cm dilated and ready to start pushing. Two contractions of pushing and he was out! (Women in my family were just born to birth children)
We are all home now and doing great. Kellen is a happy, easy going little man. And of course the most handsome little boy around. He just makes my heart melt. He barely cries and is a Great eater.
Makenna is a very proud big sister! She is doing a great job with him. She loves to hold him and point out all his little body parts and give him kisses. She gets very concerned any time he cries, which is way cute.Todd is doing amazing. You see the love he has for his son just beaming off of him. He is great with Kellen and has been being wonderful to me.I am feeling very good. Tired, yes, but great! It feels great to be the mother of two and I love my little boy more than I could begin to express. It is amazing, once again, how much you can love someone....a love the comes from the core of your very being. It feels great to have a little son.

Now this is Love at first sight.

Eviction Day is Coming...

Well, since Kellen is Still insisting upon hanging out on the inside instead of joining us all in the real world, we scheduled a day to be induced today. Unless this little guy is out in the next few days, he is going to be kicked out on Sun, Oct 5th. I am told to call down to the hospital at 8:30am and as soon as they have a bed available they will have me come in to begin labor.
At my doctors apt today I was a solid 3cm dilated and still about 80% effaced and a -2 station. She stripped my membranes again, hoping that perhaps that will encourage things to happen on their own. I would love it if he did come before Sunday, but I am not holding my breath at all. I can survive until Sunday, and it is just nice having an end to all of this in sight. I want to see and hold this little guy Soooo bad!
So there you go.
I will get that 40 week belly pic up soon. I am slacking. Sorry.
