All about the Baby Bump

Well, there has certainly been some noticable change in my belly in the last month! There is definitely a baby bouncing around in there. I am no longer able to fit into my regular jeans. I'm sure I could force myself to and do the whole rubber band thing for awhile, but no point. Elastic waists are soooo much more comfy :)
Early last week I started being able to feel the baby move! The pregnancy feel so much more real and exciting now that I can feel this little person bumping around inside me. I have already been able to feel and see the baby from the outside as well. I am hoping that Todd and Makenna will get to very soon. At this point it is all a matter of timing...not all the movements are strong enough to feel with your hand on my belly yet.

We had a doctors apt today and everything looked great. The babies heart sounded healthy and quite loud! My belly measured as it should. Everything checked out Great!
We have the big ultrasound coming up on May 7th. It will be nice to have all the babies body parts checked out and hear how the baby is looking developmentally. And as long as no one is being shy, hopefully we will be finding out the sex! We'll let you know as soon as we do.

More Than You Know...

After 20 months of having this beautiful little girl in my life, it still amazes me how much the love I feel for her has consumed me. The love I have as a mother for my child, my daughter, is unlike anything I have ever known. It is the one, true unconditional love. It is a love that begins at the core of your being and consumes everything from the inside out. There is nothing that I wouldn't do for this little girl. There is no sacrifice I would not make, no distance I would not go, no end to what I would do to make my baby happy.
She is becoming such a big girl. She is calling me Mommy now instead of Mama. She is independent and strong willed and stubborn as can be. She is everything I could ever wish she would be. And she will always be mine. She will always be my baby.
I thank the lord every morning, every day, every night for blessing me with this little angel. For trusting her little life, her heart in my hands. I feel so unworthy at times, but I do my best, and will never stop loving her.
She is My World. My Life. My Love

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Makenna, Auntie "Rah Rah" and I spent the day together a couple of weeks ago. We had so much fun just having girl time. Makenna Absolutely Loves her Auntie! She gets so excited every time she sees her, it is the cutest thing.
We went to a fun little place for lunch and let Makenna go to town playing on the toys, which she loved. I was able to catch some cute pics of her and her Auntie playing together.

It makes me so happy to see two of my favorite girls in the world laughing and smiling and having so much fun. I love my sissy and I love my baby girl so much!

M. M. M.

Well folks, it is official. Makenna Mae Carlson is no more. Meet Makenna Mae McKamey. Then trying saying it 3 times fast. On April 3rd, Todd, Makenna and I, along with some family, went down to the courthouse to meet with the judge to sign the papers making Todd Makenna's legal father. The whole process went smoother than any of us could have imagined and happend so quickly. I know that the lord has blessed us and helped make this event be able to take place.

Makenna is a very lucky girl. Todd is an amazing Dada to her and she adores him. And I must say that Todd is a lucky man to have such a sweet, loving, beautiful little girl as a daughter. We are all just so happy.
We had a little get together at my parents house on Saturday to celebrate the event. It was a great turn out and everyone had a lot of fun. We are so happy to be one big happy family!

Potty Pals

I think we would all agree that going to the bathroom is a very personal thing. Though there are times that it must be done in public, sitting in a stall right next to someone, being in a restroom without a door on the stall, squatting in a bush on special occasions, no matter what, it is still one of the most personal things we do each and every day.
Ones relationship with a toilet, potty, lavatory, crapper, john, throne, whatever you call it, is a very special thing. No matter your gender or age, their is certain bond and trust that is built between a person and their potty.

This is the relationship building that is taking place in our home at the moment. Though Makenna is not quite ready to embrace the whole charade of potty training, she is working on that oh so important bond that is crucial to potty success.
And so far the potty has been well received. Makenna enjoys her potty very much. She sits on her potty while others go potty. She watches cartoons on her potty, reads on her potty, plays with her dolls on her potty, sits outside on the potty, even talks on the phone on her potty.
I am so proud of Makenna and feel that she is building a life long friendship that will greatly benefit her every day of her life.

Growth From the Underbelly!

Here is your first look at the growing belly. Everyone says that baby number 2, 3, 8 etc. all tend to make you show a bit faster than baby number 1. All I know is I can still fit into all my jeans and keep them buttoned (though sitting in them can be a challenge at times). I feel like baby bean and belly are both right on track, so I am feeling pleased. The months to come should be more exciting!

Easter, Easter, Easter...

Easter at the McKamey household went off with a big success. The Easter bunny made a pit stop and hid baskets for Makenna and Dada to find....both were expert hunters and enjoyed the excitement of the search. Makenna got a little chicken that sings and does the chicken dance. It was love at first "peep"....Mommy and Daddy have been enjoying the new soundtrack to their lives, as we all walk around with that oh so lovely song in our heads.
Our family is very grateful for the sacrifice of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and for the chance we have to celebrate all he has done for us on this day.

Seriously, she is In Love with this chicken!
