Santa Claus is Coming

Getting ready for the arrival of Christmas was fun this year, full of festive activities and lots of excitement and anticipation for Santa's arrival. Here are a few of the highlights.

As is our annual tradition, the ladies got together again for a Saturday FULL of baking. By some miracle everything seemed to turn out rather well this year! A number of pounds were gained by yours truly due to this activity and the endless goodies lying around after it. We did however decide that this is the last year that little children (meaning children that are just in the way versus helpful) will be allowed to attend. Only the little girls are pictured here, but we had all the kids with us. And baking with that many little kids is hard, on the mommies/grammy and the kids. So next year Daddy will be babysitting and his payment will be enjoying all the delicious goodies I will bring home.
The boys, just being cute together. Kellen had to show him his workbench :)
Our kids are big fans of the story of the Gingerbread Man, so rather than making a gingerbread house Daddy thought it would be fun to make a gingerbread man. And he was right- the kids had a blast with him making their little man.
Makenna kept wondering when the Gingerbread Man was going to jump up and try to run away. Kellen just wanted to know when he could eat the candy :)

So much fun. Daddy and the kids did eventually eat this poor, cute little guy. Makenna especially....she chowed his head right off!
Fam pic on Christmas Eve in front of the tree.

Kenna and Kellen got cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer before they went to bed. Makenna also colored a picture and I colored one as well to leave out for Santa. Such cute little kiddos. Having kids makes me want to have Christmas 4 times a year...once in not often enough to see the joy and magic in their eyes.

Holy smokes ... those cookies look delicious! You three must have been backing literally all day. You need to let me know which ones were your favorites and send/post the recipes (since you have tons of time to cater to my whims). :)

Love it and LOVE the gingerbread man....much better for the kids as making the gingerbread houses gets too frustrating :)
